Welcome to Shawnee County Fire District #4 (SCFD #4). We are a dedicated team of career, part-time, and volunteer professionals committed to protecting life, property, and the environment throughout our coverage area in Shawnee County, Kansas.

From emergency response to fire prevention, we provide a full range of fire, rescue, and EMS services to our community. With a strong focus on preparedness and professionalism, we respond to a wide variety of incidents including structure fires, wildland fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescues.

Our Coverage

Shawnee County Fire District #4 proudly serves the rural communities of Southwest Shawnee and Eastern Wabaunsee County, Kansas. Our district covers a wide and diverse area that includes agricultural land, rural homes, and small communities. We are also responsible for emergency response along a stretch of Interstate 70, K-4 Highway, and a major railroad line that runs through our district.

These features present unique challenges, from field and grass fires to highway accidents and rail emergencies. Our department is equipped and trained to respond effectively across all terrain and conditions, ensuring reliable service no matter where the call comes from.

Our People

Our department is made up of firefighters, EMTs, officers, and administrative staff who are passionate about public safety. We are proud of our combination staffing model which allows us to operate efficiently while providing a high level of service. Whether responding to emergencies, conducting fire prevention education, or maintaining our equipment, every member plays a vital role.
